"We've come up with a schedule that is really appealing to fans," said Premiership Rugby’s Dominic Hayes. "You won't have to wait around a long time to see your team if you're supporting one club."
Fans watching at home will also be able to spend the afternoon with the Premiership 7s, do something else the rest of the evening, and then come back for the action Saturday morning—kickoff is 9:30 AM ET on Saturday for the knockout rounds, which finishes just before 1 PM.
Gloucester Youth Itching To Go
The Gloucester squad is a combination of senior squad and academy players, with Scotland U20 scrumhalf Charlie Chapman the captain. Senior squad players Gareth Evans and Will Safe, both likely to play prop in sevens, are also part of the leadership group.
“We have had good success in recent seasons in the Premiership Rugby Sevens, and we use it as an opportunity for our young players to go out and express themselves," said Rich Whiffin, who heads up the Gloucester Academy. “We’ve been drawn in a really exciting pool group, and there’s a chance to really test our skill set and how our players cope under pressure in what will be a great atmosphere at Franklin’s Gardens across the weekend.”
Gloucester last won the Premiership 7s in 2014.

Saints Have Home Support
As mentioned on FloRugby earlier, the Premiership Rugby 7s will be played at Franklin's Gardens, the home of the Northampton Saints, and that Saints team expects some vocal home fans.
Rory Hutchinson will skipper a young Saints squad that still has some sevens experience in Tom Emery, Ollie Sleightholme, Devante Onojaife, and Fraser Strachan.
“This is a superb opportunity for the club to start the season off strongly and for all of these young players involved to put their hands up to the first-team coaches,” said Saints Academy head coach Mark Hopley. “The 7s Cup is the first piece of silverware on offer for all 12 Premiership Rugby clubs season and of course everyone wants to win it."
Hutchinson added: “It’s a great privilege for us to be hosting the 7s at home again this year. Obviously, we’ve had a fresh start as a squad this preseason, with new coaching and new players coming in, but now we’re really looking forward to playing in the 7s. Everyone wants to pull on the Black, Green and Gold jersey as much as possible—that’s why we play the sport—and we’ve got a really good bunch of players involved who want to perform.”

Wasps Looking For Three-Peat
Owain James leads a team that expects to win this. The club has attacked this tournament as a way to start off strong and it has worked, finishing second in 2015 and first in 2016 and 2017.
The squad includes three-time Oxford Blue Tom Stileman and some speed in Taju Atta and Cameron Anderson.
“We’re all really looking forward to the competition, and in particular to seeing one or two new faces in a Wasps jersey for the first time," said Wasps Academy manager Jon Pendlebury. “It will be a good opportunity to see the guys put the skills into practice that they have worked on as an academy group and when they’ve been integrated in the senior squad."
Pendlebury is talking up the youth of his team, but Wasps has found the formula, working with speed and speed of ball movement to win the event.
“We’ve got plenty of pace, which you always need in sevens, and also some good decision-makers who are equally quick upstairs," Pendlebury said. “Knowing the coaches at Gloucester and Northampton, we expect them to have a similar mix of players and approach to us, and playing the final game of the night against Northampton in front of their home crowd is a really exciting prospect."
