Social Media WrapUp 3/6: Good News & Bad News

The day has finally come.

The United States have the number one rugby team in the world.

The rest of the world noticed. Put that 'sleeping giant' talk aside because the Eagles made it. But only in sevens.

The Barstool guys don’t quite understand, but they’re excited! That’s what counts.

World Rugby showed the United States some love in the form of four Dream Team selections, and maybe. More importantly by including the Eagles to the early rumors of a proposed 12-team World League.

Big Week from Nick Feakes

Nick Feakes, the rookie from Australia, a stranger to snow not the try zone. Against Utah, the 23-year old out of Lindenwood put together a hat-trick, man of the match, player of the week, and the play of the week. That may be the single best MLR performance to date. Has Feakes done enough to win rookie of the year?

Worst Timing Welsh

The rumors didn’t stop there! They just shifted leagues.

Sudden withdrawal of the proposed Ospreys/Scarlets merger has left multiple Welsh Internationals in contractual limbo while the team attempts to remain focus on a Six Nations Grand Slam.

USA Fifteens Falter

Good news and bad news.

The good news is USA 7s is number one in the World. The bad news is the fifteen-a-side squad has suffered another loss in the Americas Rugby Championship.

Bad news, the Eagles are sliding only a few months from the World Cup. The good news is the Eagles have Joe Taufete’e.

On Saturday, Taufete’e broke the record for most tries by a front rower with a hat-trick performance.
