D1A Rugby has finalized the playoff bracket after the rankings are in following the weekend's games.

With Cal defeating Saint Mary's 29-19, the Cal Bears move ahead of the Gaels to take the #1 seed out of the West. Meanwhile, Life University overcame an early deficit to beat Penn State and take the #1 seed out of the East.

The playoff bracket is split along geographic lines, with teams from the Mid-South, Big 10, Rugby East, and Red River comprising the East (the Liberty Conference teams opted not to be considered for the playoffs). The West bracket comprises teams from the PAC Rugby Conference, Rocky Mountain, and California Conference.

Teams that won a conference get an automatic home playoff bid. Those teams were seeded based on their official D1A ranking. Then the remaining teams were seeded based on their rankings.

Since there were only three conference winners in the West, the top-seeded non-champ also garnered a home playoff game.

Here's how it all shook out:

The top-seeded non-conference-champion in the East was Navy, and the Midshipmen will visit Red River champion Oklahoma. In the West, Arizona was the top-seeded non-champion, and will host the next-highest seed, Central Washington.
