Rugby United NY head coach Mike Tolkin has announced he will not return to RUNY for the 2020 season.

Tolkin made the announcement in a released statement in which he addressed RUNY assistant coach Kees Lensing taking the head coaching job at Seattle.

"’I'd like to wish Kees Lensing all the best for his new role as Head Coach in Seattle. He’s an excellent coach and will be a great asset for the franchise in its upcoming MLR season," said Tolkin in his statement. "I thoroughly enjoyed working together in NY last season, where we accomplished a lot in the club’s inaugural season."

And then Tolkin said he, like Lensing, would be moving on.

"Furthermore, I will not be returning to coach RUNY in 2020. The players and staff performed magnificently under challenging conditions throughout the season."

RUNY made the MLR semifinals in the club's first year in existence.
