Scully To Become 10th Eagle To Get 50th Cap Saturday
Blaine Scully gets the half-century for the USA.
USA captain Blaine Scully will earn a rare honor when he runs onto the field at BC Place in Vancouver Saturday night, as he'll log his 50th cap for the USA.
The former Cal All-American will bypass another former Cal All-American in Kort Schubert with his 50th cap, and he'll only the 10th Eagle to achieve the milestone.
Of those nine with 50 caps at present, only three are backs, led by scrumhalf Mike Petri with 57. Todd Clever is the all-time most-capped Eagle at 76.
A hugely respected player all over the world, Scully is known as a student of the game and as a cerebral leader. This will be his 19th test match as USA captain, and if the Eagles win he will tie lock Alec Parker as having been on a winning USA team 23 times, third all-time behind Clever and Cam Dolan.
