It's another big weekend of live rugby on FloSports with major professional and international competitions underway.

While much of the rugby universe's attention will be focused on the opening round of the World Cup, that won't be the only big event of the weekend. 

We'll have full coverage of Oktoberfest 7s as well as two big games in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Oktoberfest 7s

This figures to be a highly entertaining spectacle, featuring the top six teams in the world — Fiji, USA, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Australia—as well as France and hosts Germany.

The tournament, held in Munich, will be played amidst the world's largest beer festival, as travelers from all across the globe will be in town for the festivities. It should be a fun, action-packed start to the 7s season full of thrills and good times. 

However, for the teams competing, the competition also means business. Serious business. 

With the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo on tap at the end of this season, players will be more determined than ever to show their coaches they deserve a shot at Olympic glory. Oktoberfest is the first opportunity for a lot of guys to impress, earn a spot on the HSBC tour, and ultimately win a seat on the plane to Tokyo. 

South Africa and New Zealand have brought in some of their very best players for this weekend, whereas Fiji and the United States are experimenting with some young up-and-comers. 

These players will be chomping at the bit to show what they can do and become regulars on the circuit ahead of the Olympics. 

Australia and England are a couple of teams that will bring a mixed bag of experience and experimentation. 

Australian Super Rugby star Jack Maddocks switches to the 7s code this week after just missing out on Wallaby selection for the World Cup. And young Toby Venner, who was incredible at the Premiership 7s, gets the late call-up after Oliver Lindsey-Hague dropped out. 

Premiership Rugby Cup

With a delayed start to the Gallagher Premiership season thanks to the World Cup, the Premiership Rugby Cup will serve as the first serious hit-out for many of English rugby's biggest stars.

While the very very top Premiership players will be busy playing in Japan, the rest will be home competing with one another in the first few rounds of the Premiership Rugby Cup. 

In addition to many veteran stars not going to the World Cup, this competition is a massive opportunity for younger players to establish themselves as first-team players. 

On Saturday, FloSports subscribers can watch Harlequins take on the Bristol Bears on Friday at 2:45 pm (ET), and then Exeter host Bath on Saturday at 10:00 am (ET).
