Atlantis swept the field at the New York 7s over the weekend to win the Women's Premier competition. 

With just four teams competing in the highest level bracket, the format of the competition was a bit different than your typical tournament. 

All four sides played each other once in pool play, before the top two teams in the group moved on to play once more in a championship decider.

During pool play, it was Atlantis who ruled the roost. They handled Quebec in their opener, 20-7, then took down defending champions Northeast Academy in a close one, 19-12, before finally putting a 29-5 beatdown on Liberty 9410. 

Quebec rebounded nicely after their opening defeat with a 31-10 victory over Liberty, and then a 36-22 win against Northeast Academy in what was effectively a semifinal match. 

But once more in the championship, Atlantis made life extremely difficult all game for Quebec, holding them scoreless en route to a 24-0 win. 

Atlantis played really strong team ball all day, trusting their fine passing skills and linking up with each other all tournament long. 

Compared with the other sides, the Atlantis players did an exceptional job of changing the angles with their line-running in support, which allowed them to run at soft shoulders and break tackles. 

Coupled with their rock solid tackling and great work at the breakdown, Atlantis' recipe for success over the weekend was a good one, and they were deserved winners on the day.
