Women's 7s Bow Out In Cape Town Quarterfinals
The Women's Eagles 7s went out in the quarterfinals, but still sit third in the standings.

For the first time in the past four tournaments, the USA Women's 7s Eagles failed to progress past the quarterfinals, after falling to our Canadian neighbors 15-14.
They still remain third in the overall standings, and there was some really great rugby played across the weekend.

Alev Kelter was brilliant as usual, scoring at least one try in all four games for a total of six on the weekend. Her running mate Naya Tapper added three of her own, continuing to be a try-scoring machine like Kelter.
Following 38-0 and 21-7 wins over Ireland and England respectively, the United States dropped a close one on the final play to Australia, 19-14.

That meant they were to take on Canada in the quarterfinal, and again it was a back and forth affair. Ultimately it was the Canadians had the last laugh, but once again the Eagles showed they one of the top contenders on the circuit.
With the Olympics rapidly approaching, the Women's 7s Eagles look to be building something really strong and are certainly a viable threat to win a medal in Tokyo.
