Making Predictions: Six Nations & Major League Rugby
Nine games across the Six Nations and Major League Rugby means nine predictions!

Looking ahead to this weekend, we'll have another jam-packed couple days of rugby, particularly with Rounds 3 of the Six Nations and Major League Rugby highlighting the action.
In the Six Nations, Scotland travels to Italy, Wales will host France, and England welcomes Ireland to Twickenham. For the MLR, NOLA visits Colorado, Utah heads to Austin, Houston hosts DC, Seattle plays Toronto at home, New York ships off to Atlanta, and New England flies west once again to battle San Diego.
Here are some predictions for the games:
Italy vs Scotland | 2/22 - 9:15 AM (ET)

Two teams looking to avoid 0-3 starts, both Italy and Scotland are desperate for a win. Scotland have been close in each of their two contests against Ireland and England, but some costly errors just kept them out. Italy were poor in Round 1 against Wales but had a spirited fight back in Round 2 against France.
This one could be closer than expected, but Scotland will prove its superiority on Saturday and get in the 2020 win column.
Italy 20-31 Scotland
Wales vs France | 2/22 - 11:45 AM (ET)

France are hot, having won each of their first two games in this Six Nations under new coach and former captain Fabien Galthie. However, the French have lost eight of the last nine to Wales, including the last four in Cardiff.
Wales make it nine out of ten on Saturday and get themselves back into the Six Nations title chase.
Wales 24-20 France
England vs Ireland | 2/23 - 10:00 AM

The last time Ireland visited Twickenham, they secured a Grand Slam on St. Patrick's Day with a dominating performance. England returned the favor a year later with a brutalizing victory in Dublin in Round 1.
Ireland can pull off the Triple Crown with a win on Sunday and set themselves up pretty for another Grand Slam run. However, England have something to prove after dropping their opening round match to France and fighting through a slop fest to beat Scotland in Round 2.
England 21-10 Ireland
Colorado Raptors vs NOLA Gold | 2/22 - 6:00 PM (ET)

Colorado will be wanting to avoid an 0-3 start, but it won't come easy when the Gold roll into town. NOLA squandered a half time lead at home to Atlanta in Round 2, and will be itching to get back to the form that saw them deliver a punishing 46-13 beat down to Old Glory in opener.
Colorado have had flashes of brilliance through two rounds, but their set piece work has been sub-par, and going up against a strong NOLA pack is going to make life extremely difficult for the Raptors.
Colorado 19-34 NOLA
Austin Gilgronis vs Utah Warriors - 2/22 - 8:00 PM (ET)

It's been 20 games and 631 days since the last time Austin won an MLR game. That contest, ironically, came against these same Utah Warriors, who are coming in to this contest on the back of a huge comeback win in Vegas over the New England Free Jacks.
Although the Gilgronis have lost both of their first two games by wide margins, there were signs in the second half of the game last weekend against RUNY that things could be turning around. Furthermore, the addition of two former All Blacks in Jamie Mackintosh and Frank Halai is going to make a significant difference. This could well be the end of the winless drought and the start of a new beginning.
Austin 34-30 Utah
Houston Sabercats vs Old Glory DC | 2/22 - 8:00 PM (ET)

No team had a bigger turnaround from Week 1 to Week 2 than Old Glory, who followed up a 46-13 loss to NOLA with a 28-22 win against Seattle. The arrival of world class superstar Tendai "The Beast" Mtawarira certainly helped immensely, but it was really the whole team that stepped up.
For Houston, they'll be frustrated that it took the team 40 minutes to wake up against the Arrows, but they'll also be encouraged by their second half fight back. If they can play the whole 80 like they did the last 40 a week ago, they can pull out the win.
Houston 20-17 DC
Seattle Seawolves vs Toronto Arrows | 2/22 - 10:00 PM (ET)

Surely the two-time defending champs won't drop to 0-3 on the year, right? Playing in front of the league's best crowd will be a welcome sight for the Seawolves, who have spent each of the first two weeks on the road.
However, they're fixing to match up with one of the most balanced teams in the league in the Toronto Arrows. The Arrows were brilliant in Round 1 with a 38-10 win against Austin, and then picked up right where they left off in Round 2, racing out to a 24-5 halftime advantage over Houston. They let their guard down in the second half of that one though, and if not for a held-up maul in goal on the final play, may not have held on for a 27-22 win.
This one will be close, but in a bit of a surprise the road warrior Arrows will eek one out in Seattle.
Seattle 24-25 Toronto
Rugby ATL vs RUNY | 2/23 - 3:00 PM (ET)

Quietly, but surely, Atlanta has been one of the very best teams in the league through two weeks. In both comeback wins over Utah and NOLA, ATL put together second half defensive clinics to put a stranglehold on the game.
RUNY had a tough start in Round 1, succumbing to a ferocious New England scrum and playing much of the game on the back foot. In Round 2, however, New York found its footing and hung an impressive 49 points on Austin in their victory in Vegas.
Both teams figure to be in the mix for the Eastern Conference, so Sunday's matchup, the first of two between the sides, will go a long way towards playoff seeding. Playing at home in front of a big crowd, however, Atlanta will take the spoils.
Atlanta 27-19 RUNY
San Diego Legion vs New England Freejacks | 2/23 - 7:00 PM (ET)

Through two weeks, it would be almost impossible to say there's been a team more impressive than the Legion, who comfortably handled Seattle in Round 1 before dismantling Colorado a week later.
The Freejacks surprised a lot of people with their dominant Round 1 win over RUNY, but came back to earth a week later after blowing a two-score second half lead to Utah. The trip all the way to San Diego will be taxing on the Freejacks, and it will take a massive effort to pull the upset.
San Diego will prove to have too much firepower, and the advantage of playing at home will keep this one out of reach.
San Diego 37-17 New England
